How Knowyio creates and reviews study content

Students should be able to tell where a deck came from, how it was produced and what still needs checking. This page explains the standards behind Knowyio content.

Three clearly separated content types

Official Knowyio decks are maintained collections organised around a named subject, exam or topic. They are kept separate from user submissions.

Community decks are intentionally published by users or the Knowyio Team and displayed in the Community Library with a publisher label. Publication does not mean an exam board or regulator endorses the material.

Private AI-generated decks are created from material supplied by the user. They remain private by default and should be reviewed against the original source before study.

How study guides are produced

  1. We start with a specific learner question, not a keyword variation.
  2. We check claims against original research, recognised academic databases, universities or official exam sources where available.
  3. We translate the evidence into concrete steps a student can use in a real revision session.
  4. We remove unsupported statistics, exaggerated promises and claims that one schedule works for everyone.
  5. We add an authoring label, review date and source list, then revisit the page when the underlying guidance changes.

How AI is used

AI may help organise a draft, generate candidate questions or structure material. It is not treated as a source. Factual claims in editorial guides must be checked against the references shown on the page. User-generated AI decks are editable because source material can be incomplete and AI output can be wrong.

What “reviewed” means

A review checks that the page has a clear purpose, matches the cited evidence, avoids misleading certainty, links to relevant source material and distinguishes learning advice from guarantees. It does not mean Knowyio is affiliated with the named exam provider.

Corrections and syllabus changes

Exam requirements and official terminology can change. Important answers should always be compared with the current syllabus or regulator guidance. To report a questionable card, include its URL, the exact wording and the official source supporting the correction.

What Knowyio will not claim

  • We do not guarantee an exam result.
  • We do not describe AI-generated answers as automatically accurate.
  • We do not claim affiliation with an exam board unless that relationship is explicitly documented.
  • We do not publish fabricated testimonials, pass rates or usage figures.
