1. Information we process
We may process the notes, titles, subjects and settings you submit when creating flashcards; basic technical data such as browser type, device type, pages visited and approximate region; and messages you send to support. We do not ask for payment details unless a payment feature is clearly offered through a payment provider.
2. How your notes are used
Your notes are used to produce the flashcards you request. When AI generation is enabled, the relevant text may be sent securely to an AI service provider for processing. Do not submit passwords, health records, confidential school records or other sensitive personal information.
3. Private and public decks
Decks you create are private by default and remain in your current session unless you explicitly choose to publish a shareable deck. Published decks can be viewed by anyone with the link and may appear in search engines. Remove names, student numbers and private material before publishing.
4. Files and local processing
Where supported, text extraction from uploaded PDF or text files happens in your browser before the extracted text is submitted for flashcard generation. We do not claim ownership of your source material.
5. Service providers and storage
We may use hosting, database, analytics, AI and security providers to operate Knowyio. They process data only for providing those services and under their own security and privacy obligations. Published decks may be stored until removed; temporary generation data may be retained in operational logs for a limited period.
6. Cookies and analytics
Knowyio uses essential browser storage for site preferences, security, unsaved study drafts and anonymous analytics identifiers. We record limited events such as page views, starting or completing a study workflow, and the number of cards or questions involved. These events do not contain your email address, account ID, notes, card text, quiz answers or IP address. When you arrive through a campaign or a shared deck, we may store the first campaign source, medium, campaign name, content identifier and landing path in your browser for up to 90 days. If you later choose to create an account, those limited attribution fields may be attached to the account so we can understand which resources introduce new users. We do not store search terms or the full external page URL in this attribution record. If optional advertising cookies are introduced, we will provide an appropriate notice or consent control before using them where required.
7. Your choices
You may ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we control, or request removal of a published deck. Some rights depend on your location. Contact us with the deck URL and enough information to verify the request.
8. Children and students
Knowyio is designed for students, but it is not intended to collect unnecessary personal information from children. Students under the age required to consent to online services in their country should use Knowyio with a parent, guardian or school's permission.
